Propane or electric? (electric would only be for an electric cart)

I have an outlet that I use for my gps. Is there a heater that will work with this? (gas cart)

- What's the power rating (and the fuse capacity as well) for that outlet? Compare this to the amps required by any 12V electric heater you might consider. - More importantly: How much of a constant drain on the electrical system is the cart's generator able to handle and still keep the battery up to snuff charge-wise? I don't know that they're able to handle much more than the basic electrical system (lights, etc.) which most people have on their carts.....but I defer to others who have more specific knowledge. Personally, we have a Coleman GolfCat propane heater that we use when it's REALLY cold outside. It's not necessarily for everyone - some won't like it from a safety consideration standpoint.....operating a propane heater in your golf cart. Fits in one of your cup holders. I put a small bungee cord through the handle then to two points under the dash to help keep it firmly in place. It tends to be a bit top heavy. Ive had a propane for several years. Works ok but am concerned about emissions in the enclosure(not overly so). Thanks for the tips- about what I expected .

The Sunbrella cover is not tight enough that you need to worry about emissions. I say that, then some have the "hard shell enclosures", they are quite a bit tighter (seal from outside air). While the cart is moving so is the air into the cart.

The previously noted Amazon link states 7 hours of use per cylinder. I'd guess that's probably when it's on the Low temp setting. Bill ![]() |
