We just received delivery of our "new" rebuilt Club Car golf cart.
We couldn't be happier! It was well worth the research done and the short wait for delivery. I studied the reviews on all the major golf cart companies and we have decided that Club Car is the top of the line. We have shopped around for used carts, but you cannot find exactly what you want, and many times you don't know the history of the cart. It is a 2009 DS model, 48 volt electric (6 - 8 volt batteries), just refurbished locally (from a golf course somewhere), repainted to our exact specifications, new enclosure, new Powertron batteries (made by Trojan), new 10" tires, all the features we wanted, and way below what local dealers charge for the same refurbished cart. Our supplier was Tom Mumm, here in The Villages. He has been doing this for the several years that we have known him, and we can vouch for his honesty, professionalism, and attention to detail. I know of no one who has been disapointed with his service. He can order the current model of DS Club Car that is available from the wholesale market, which is currently the 2009 year model - where golf carts come off a golf course after two years use. It is throughly gone over and reconditioned, and can be painted to your choice of colors, and outfitted as you like it. We got Flame Red, with a painted top, instead of the enclosure that covers the top. Upholstered seat, not a seat cover. A Sunbrella enclosure that we picked out from a Sunbrella catalogue. 10 inch tires with red inlay. Cooler, overhead storage shelf inside, wood grain locking dash, pinstriping, etc. My wife likes red, so we have a "new" Flame Red golf cart that looks new, but at a cost way below what an equivalent new one would cost, or a reconditioned one from the local Club Car dealers. She is very happy, so you know that I am happy! I believe his pricies for 2009 DS models start around $4,200 for the beige color with 8 inch wheels. Fully configured with custom paint, enclosure, 10" wheels, dash, etc can be up to $6,500. I priced what I thought was comparable at the dealsership, and they were closer to $8,000 or more for the same thing! New ones are over $10,000! I have no financial interest in Tom's business. I just wanted to put the word out to those who want a great cart way below the cost of a new one. I don't know how to price his carts out with the options. That is why I suggested that you call him. I know he has a couple of carts on hand ready to sell. I can't be doing this all day, we are going for a ride! See the attached pictures. Tom Mumm's number is 352-459-3635 Last edited by royr; 01-07-2013 at 10:40 AM. Reason: Ad more info and picture |

How expensive is a rebuilt Club Car? How does it compare to a new one?

Call Tom. It depends on what features you want. He beats the dealers' price and cares whether you are happy!

Frankly, it kinda makes sense for the O.P. to not state the price he paid. If the source runs a small, independent operation, he's liable to be paying differing prices for the carts he gets depending on their condition, etc. Thus he would more than likely be selling each cart for somewhat different prices based on what all he had to do to get them up to snuff, all other things being equal. Also, options the O.P. got on his cart might differ from what someone else might want on theirs (I noticed his cart has a painted top) and thus would impact pricing. Stating the price he paid might wind up misleading a potential buyer. Maybe I'm off-base.....maybe not! ![]() Bill ![]() |

I am not in business with him, so I am hesitant to try to quote a price. It depends on what features you want. I updated my original post with a price range that he gave me. I also added a picture of the batteries.
