Default Laser Spine Institute - Tampa

I am seeking feedback, good, bad, indifferent, on The Laser Spine Institute - Tampa. A dear friend needs back surgery, and she would like to get first hand experiences from other patients before she decides to go to the LSI or not. Thanks for your input.

I had back surgery August 29 and I am pain free! I was in a brace for 3 months and it was grueling but the end result is what counts. I had Dr. Bono and you can have it done at the Villages hospital. I would totally recommend him. I had extensive work done and it was a scarey surgery but checking out your doctors is what counts. I googled Dr. Bono and liked what I saw. Hope this helps...I know it is hard to make a decision. Oh, and he has "corrected" a lot of the laser surgery's. You can end up with too much scar tissue and no long-term results.

I personally wouldn't go there Doctor's aren't neurosurgeons and recently I think I saw some negative press about them (can't remember where). Google the reports for information on any doctor or facility if you have questions.

Here in T.V. we have an excellant neurosurgeon in Dr. Daniel Spurrier. He does non-evasive surgeries and I can personally recommend him as I had surgery a year and a half ago.

Stay away from Laser Spine, they want money up front, not a good sign. Know several very unhappy people who went there , spent lots of money only to be in pain three months later. I say go to Spurrier or Bono. Spurrier will only do surgery if your condition warrants it, many will do surgery just because a person wants it.

Is this one of those places that insurance won't cover?

It is so good to hear these kinds of helpful input from others.

I work for TLC Surgery Center in Lady Lake. Dr Spurrier is a neurosurgeon for whom I have the highest respect. He probably doesn't remember me but tell him Jim Locke from TLC endorses him...

He's not one to rush to surgery, either.
