Default Spousal Caregivers

Spousal Caregivers
I am new to this site and have lived in The Villages since May 2012. I haven’t seen among the activities and/or organizations a group devoted exclusively to spousal caregivers.

If there is such a group would you please let me know about it? If not, is there any interest in starting one. Caregiving for a chronically ill or disabled spouse presents unique challenges to caregiving for a parent or child etc.

I would be willing to take the lead in starting a group for spousal caregivers if one does not already exist. Please contact me.

This is a wonderful idea. I do not know of one. Every caregiver support group I am familiar with is for caregivers caring for others with certain types of diseases. My husband's progressive neurological illness has never been diagnosed beyond that. Where does one go for support?

Wonderful idea - I would love to be part of such a group. I cannot take on organizing such a group, but I do support your efforts. Hopefully others are interested too.

I would be interested in joining a caregivers support group.
My mom has a progressive neurological illness, but rare.

I realize this thread is a bit old, but is there still interest?

In my opinion, to be successful, a caregiver group would need to deal specifically with one particular disease, like dementia.
