I wish I knew as they have been overcharging for many years. IMHO

Good point. Most young people don't cut corners and don't start saving soon enough.

Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachersOur youth now love luxury. I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on the frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words.

More on topic, here is the inflation corrected cost of gasoline from 1918 thru 2011. Inflation adjusted Gasoline Price Chart
Not really a lot of change. But if you just plot the last five years, up 28% over the CPI increase. However, the average MPG of cars is up 22% in the same period which mostly offsets the cost of driving. Still, for many, the cost of commuting is significant. Tip your servers.

When everyone stops running up and down the road all day wasting fuel. Lower consumption equals lower prices.

GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada is a site everyone should use as it give you all the prices in your zip code at a glance.

Keep in mind, some gas station charge 10 cents more for using your credit card and a surcharge if you are in one of those states that are affected.

Gas price will continue to rise well above supply costs due to supply/demand. As the world economy improves, countries with less domestic oil resources than the US will drive the price higher. And we subsidize this via our tax code that gives domestic oil producers huge tax breaks no matter where they sell their product. The people of India and China thank you.

While I hate it when the price goes up, we are pretty darned lucky compared to the rest of the world. And if fracking doesn't destroy our country, which some think it might, it is going to put a lot of downward pressure on world oil prices. Not that I don't think the big oil companies are satan's spawn, because I do.

To Blueash: I disagree with your sweeping condemnation of today's youth. My two children are two of the politest, kind and generous people I've ever met. I would hasten to say they are much better people that I ever was, being raised by an insane bigot. (My mother, not me) I'm very proud of them and I suspect many others here are of their kids and grandkids too. Sure there are lots of problem youth, but there were when you and I were that age also. And even if it is worse today, it isn't everyone.

I started to write a smartass comment about the need to stand when you walk into the room, but my better angels said no. Plus, I've seen my son do it. Again he's a better person than I am.

You can always buy unleaded gas futures and lock in your gas prices if you're that concerned.

Anyone know why gas in St. Cloud consistently runs about 20 cents a gallon cheaper?
