watch for events at Bradenton as well. There are events for the Flockers (bird streets) and Fillies (women), and some Fernandina get togethers. On Wednesday afternoon there is a bocce group. Find out who the contact person is and give them a call to see if the group if for you. If you go to one and ask around you will find your tribe of people with like interests within a very nice group of people. Heck even hanging around the Bradenton and Fernandina pool and being friendly will open up many possibilities.

If you take a walk down your street you will see people outside. Just ask them where they live or if you are in front of their house introduce yourself. Everyone is here looking to meet people so you will have loads of friends in no time at all.

Just closed this week on our home in Fernandina (Allaire Loop). We'll be down the first week in March and look forward to meeting our new neighbors and fellow villagers!

I moved a lot, mostly in the midwest and south, had many friends (transferees tend to friend with other transferees) who did the same. Very common in the Midwest, and South, in our experience, to have neighbors drop over with cookies, coffee cake, or a bottle of wine within days, if not hours, of moving in.
Not always so common in other parts of the country, but here in the land of everyone being new, I am glad to see it is. Don't forget - you can throw a party too. Here you can just drop off invitations at the occupied houses. Don't forget to add byob, a snack to share, and a chair! You can do more if you want, or not. |
