It's done with suture and fishhook like devices that pull your face back. Looks good for awhile but too much money for the look. For few thousand more you can get a regular or mini face lift

A friend of mine had it done (Lifestyle Lift). She said it was the worst decision of her life!
They used 2 fish hook devices and implanted them in front of her ears. They then took all the excess face flab, pulled everything back and actually hooked it on this device. Then they took a wire and secured the hook around the ear and clamped it in back of the ear! She said she could feel those hooks when she laid on her side at night and at one point, one started to come out through her skin! She had them removed about 3 months later. Cost her $8,300 for that torture! If I want fish hooks in my face, I'll go fishing with my husband who can't cast worth a damn! |

It's also called a "thread lift" if you want to look it up online. Sometimes the threads break and your face is then lopsided. The barbs damage the tissue and sometimes damage the muscles. Definitely not recommended.

A very effective alternative to surgery is Deep Penetreating Light Therapy (DPL Therapy). The initial investment is a little pricey ($350.), but it REALLY works! I have been using it for several years.
You can see a description and reviews on Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more by searching for DPL therapy

My sister in Law (the one who has all her makeup tatooed on) is in Brazil right now getting a total facelift......so....I wonder if her tattoed eyebrows will now be earbrows? Yikes!......for years she has had it all...boob jobs, lipo, tummy lift, veins zapped....everything. She has lived in Florida her whole life and I truly think all she really needed was to remove all the sun damage. For me personally, I would never, ever have anything done...especially out of country. She's skyping with her husband (my brother) and he says she is completely black and blue....nope, not for me.

I've seen several people (mostly women) who have had some type of facelift and it looks horrible after just a few years. I look at it this way, the appearance of my face isn't going to change my age. IMHO, it's more important to eat healthy, exercise and do the best you can to stay in the best shape you can in your aging years.

if one takes reasonable care of their skin they will minimize the effects of mother nature's aging process.
To spend money and a lot of money at that to get a very phony, plastic, everybody knows it's fake "face job" smacks of inordinate vanity. Do those who do so really think their mannequin looking face is better that the original?? Face lifts like men's hair pieces are like a flahing neon sign saying....yo...lookit this!!!!!! It can be spotted a mile away (without the neon flashing lights). I know it is to each his own....but it is so un natural and looks like what it is....an attempt to become who one is not. btk |

![]() Seriously, the trick to looking younger without being plucked, sucked and tucked is stay out of the sun!! I know there are some who can't and think laying out in this killer Fl sun slathered in oil is the way to look "healthy, athletic and gorgeous" but IT IS NOT! You will wrinkle and sag 10 times faster down here than anywhere else. The sun here is torture on skin and you are not doing yourself any favors by laying out in it. |

I don't want to sound meow meow but Barbara Walters looks much better in photos than in person. I have sat with her and was actually quite taken aback that she looked so much older than her photos and on TV.

If you use a good surgeon you should looked "rested" and your features more "refined" you should never looked stretched or pulled. No matter how good you take care of your skin and try to avoid sun damage genetics have a mind of their own. Do your research and check on the surgeon, board certified in surgery and board cerified in plastic surgery. Hubby and I found a wonderful doctor in Ocala and we both couldn't be happier.

I take back my suggestion to get a face lift. My mother was one who never put her face in the sun and when she died at age 83 her face was perfectly smooth, without wrinkles. My grandfather died at age 97 and had no wrinkles as he was not a sun bather either. |
