I would like to start a quarterly golf cart cruise-in at one of the town squares. It would be a great opportunity to show off some impressive golf carts. Golf cart suppliers and accessory dealers would also be welcome. I would appreciate input from others concerning this idea.

I thought all that stuff was handled either by the recreation department or the entertainment department or some other unseen department. They tell us and we show up. Are you a Villager or an unseen organizer of The Villages?

Just looked up on the Guinness Worlds Records for the Longest Golf Cart Parade and copied the following. This would be a fun activity to put together and see if we can beat our own record, especially now during the winter months when we have much more guests, renters, and snowbirds here!!
For the record Who: The Villages Community What: Largest parade of golf carts Where: United States When: 04 Sep 2005 The largest golf cart parade involved 3,321 participants from The Villages, Florida, United States on 4 September 2005. The event raised $29,500 for different charities.

We attended a golf car cruise-in each of the past two years at Sumter Landing.

The golf cart record parade in 2005 was reported an organizational nightmare. Many who participated said "never again." In the spring of 2010 with an estimated 30,000 plus carts in The Villages, an attempt to set a new record was made. Slightly more than 3,000 carts registered, but not enough to surpass the 2005 level. Again, it was an organizational nightmare although slightly less painful than the previous. Many participants again vowed, "never again."
