Default Flagpole

I need to have my collapsible flagpole installed. Do I need permission from anybody? Any recommendations who to have install it, ie: handyman, etc?

Always best before you make an expenditure to check with the Architectural Review Committee.

I see a LOT of American flags waving in yards everywhere, so I am guessing it is o.k....but better to be safe than sorry.

Two plus years ago I submitted a request, they approved rather than saying "no need" so I'd press forward. Following Gracies comment I wonder how many are approved versus "just installed". It's the proper installation (lighting?) that concerns me..... Don't forget to take care of that. There are sufficient threads on here for that topic..

The ARC does request you submit a plan.

I used Terry at the Market of Marion. He served in the Marines and sells only products made in the U.S. He is located in D South.

flag store out on 441 heading toward Leesburg on left when I drive through one of the villages over on No side there is a flagpole in front of every house with an american flag flying. That is a sight to see. Wish there were more flying. Ours is out everyday and everyday my husband changes it from one branch of service to the next in appreciation of all the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday so we can live free. That is what I am most grateful for !! God bless our Military !!

I had to go down to the library near Wildwood and get a site plan then submit that with the location marked, plus a form that ARC gives you to fill out. My advice would be to go over to the ARC office in Laural Manner with the site map and they will help you with it. As far as the install goes The Flag Store on 441 did mine but I bought the pole from them. I'm sure you can find a handyman to install it.

As another poster mentioned you need to illuminate it or you should take the flag down every night. I used a Annin Solar Light sold by Amazon for $49. I've had the light installed for 2 years and it works great. It just screws to the top of the pole. Very easy to install.

And don't forget to call dig safe before you plant it.

Thumbs up Ask Forgiveness rather than permission

I planted a flagpole in my front yard. I fly the 3x5 American and the 2x3 POW. I scabbed onto the light pole for power for the light. The pole must be 13' minimum from the curb and can only be 20' high. I planted mine without permission. I have always fealt that it is easier going through life asking forgiveness rather than asking permission. ---My neighbors LOVE my flagpole.

Smile Flagpole

I had Therm Nichols of Village Flagpoles (352-217-4360) install mine and a light for it; we are very satisfied with the complete installation.

My neighbors directly across from us in Tamarind Grove are named Paul n Bev and I just found out yesterday that he is putting up a flag pole.
