Default Hello From India

Hello everyone. I have been lurking on the site for quite some time. This is my first post. My wife and I are currently living in Chennai, India (we are Americans) and will probably retire next year. We have scheduled a visit to The Villlages for June of this year.

Although we have never visited The Villages, based on all of our internet research, particularly in this site, we think that we will make a decision on our first visit as to whether to move to The Villages (and probably make a purchase if it is a 'go' for The Villages). We are thinking that the Lantana model in the Designer series would be a good fit for us, but will have to look at the various models to validate that thinking. Being on the other side of the world limits the number of times we can visit The Villages.

All of the infromation on buying, building and details about how things go in The Villages has been a great help to us. A big thank you to every one that posts information on TOTV.

Once you visit the Villages I guarantee you will be counting the days when you will be able to make the move. We started getting ready a year in advance by getting rid of things we didn't want to move, cleaning the closets and attic, etc. It's a great place to live. Good luck to you on your lifestyle visit in June!

Be prepared to be blown away by the beauty of TV and it's friendly people.

You will never be the same after a visit and will want to move right away.

Don't forget to bring your checkbook.

You have quite a resume of places that you have lived. Very impressive. I'm trying to imagine comparing The Villages with Channai, India!!!!!????
Best of luck.

Wow you're coming from India. I have a feeling that you won't be joining the posts lamenting the traffic here in TV. Bring your checkbook you're going to be blown away.

A number of great folks have landed here after many years of being stationed all over the world.

Welcome to the forum.

We don't have everything but we do have a lot of golf courses and nice people...and a few grumps.

to TOTV and The Villages! How exciting that after all your research you have decided to visit us here in TV! The forum is invaluable in terms of obtaining lots of good information and will give you a fair idea of life here under the bubble! I wish you both safe travels and hope you enjoy your visit. I happen to have built a Lantana, so PM me with any questions. And as you have heard many times on the forum, Bring your checkbook!

Wow! I thought I got around for work. I worked with TCS in Chennai for 6 years before I retired. I also worked with another big IT consulting firm in Hyderbad. You will love it here. We made our first visit in June of 2007. I know Chennai is very warm in May and June so it may be more comfortable here. Give me a shout if you have any questions. We have been here full time since September so we are relatively new to TV but would not want to be anywhere else.
