Is there anyone out there who has had a successful knee replacement with someone other than Dr.Duke?

Mine was done by Dr. Monique Grey from the Florida Musculoskeletal Institute. They have two offices, I preferred to deal with the Lake Sumter office. Surgery was done in the Village hospital to make it convenient for my husband.

Dr Kerina, Tri County Orthopedics, did total knees for me in 12/08 and 01/12 with excellent results both times. Both were very challenging knees. He, like Dr Duke, does well over 300 knees a year, by far more than any other local docs.

I believe he is an excellent surgeon and the dedicated joint replacement wing at Leesburg Hospital is fantastic.

You gotta do the therapy!!!

Another option to explore is Dr Steven (?) Nguyen who is located closer to Orlando. He does seminars up here occasionally. He does a different type of side incision that supposedly involves less pain, less cutting of muscle, and faster healing times. I have talked to a couple of people who had good results with him.

napl.... glad it helped; I saw the notice in Sunday's paper for Nguyen's next seminar. For those who missed it and are interested...

Sat, 3/9, 12 noon, Comfort Suites

Register at 1-888-STRYKER or www.aboutstryker.com/seminars

For those contemplating knee replacement, it is a new approach and worth the time to listen.
