Default Has anyone in The Villages taken their grandchildren to D.W. Resort at Vero Beach?

Has anyone in The Villages taken their grandchildren to the Disney Resort at Vero Beach????

So many times, the children and grandkids would like a beach experience when visiting Florida.......the Disney Resort at Vero Beach seems to be about two hours southeast of T.V. Also, the Disney Cruise Ship leaves from Port Canaveral..........for another visit.

About | Disney's Vero Beach Island Resort
Disney World has their “beach resort” at Vero Beach, Florida.....

Disney's Vero Beach Resort | Disney Beach Resort Destinations
This is their pool and grounds.................it’s two hours away from Disney World in Orlando.
They opened it awhile ago as a lot of families said they wanted the beach experience............
It’s been at Vero Beach for quite some time now...........

Reservations - Dates and Destinations | Disney Cruise Line
Port Canaveral Florida is slightly NORTH of Vero Beach, Florida for the Disney Cruises.....
If you lived in Florida..........it’s all close by...........

Just wondering if it's as nice as it looks. Probably less tiring than doing the entire theme park and Epcot.........thanks in advance for any input.

Default Disney's Vero Beach

we are DVC members and have stayed at Vero Beach a few times. It is very, very nice. I think it might be hard to book a stay during summer/spring vacations because all the timeshare members go during those school breaks/vacations. I am not the biggest fan of the beach -- a lot of shells on their beach and they cut/scratch. You can ask questions at: Disboards.com and go on one of the DVC forums for more information.

I know you are right in that it is hard to book a stay during school vacations. When I tried recently, everything was indeed totally booked. Guess I wasn't thinking about timeshares.........but that's good to know. Next time I'll think a year ahead or more.........just to get what we want.
I really appreciate your reply.

We've only been to Vero Beach once.....rented a condo on the beach for two weeks. I don't remember shells but I do remember the sand fleas if you sat right near the edge of the water..........as it was the month of May. Little "no see ums"..... Sanibel Island had the same little buggers. April was our month to go to Florida as the heat really felt good then, after a long cold Vermont winter.............but in May it began to heat up. That time we flew into West Palm Beach, rented a car, etc.
That side of the state had empty highways..........except on a Sunday when we took a ride down to Palm Beach "just to check it out" and see how the super rich live.
It was actually very pretty and quaint as we entered the town.......but that's another story. We also liked Vero Beach very much, on the barrier island part.

I do remember the shells and coral on Satellite Beach as well as Sanibel Island on the gulf coast.........know what you mean...

Thank you !! I think the grandkids will enjoy the Disney Resort at Vero Beach some time down the road..........

We are DVC members and have been going to Disney's Vero Beach resort for many years, we LOVE it there. It is very laid back and not at all like the craziness of the parks. One of our favorite places to go and since moving to TV it is now only 2 1/2 hours approx away instead of us driving for 2 days to get there.....
