Question We are in Limbo and need help

My wife cannot seem to find a church that fits our needs. We have been attending various churches in the area but usuallly leave after several months. These are the reasons; We prefer a smaller church congregation, a bible teaching church , and most of all we DO NOT care for the contemporary services of what we call "gospel rock music", these are songs foreign to us. We want the old traditional services, we want to sing the old gospel songs that we have sung all our lives like The Old Rugged Cross, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, and How great thou Art.

You might try the traditional service at North Lake Presbytarian NORTH LAKE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH in LADY LAKE, FL. We found the traditional service to be very nice although not a small church.

I am a member of North Lake Presbyterian and they have two traditional services at 8:30 and 11:15. Music is just what you like. Our choir director is awesome. Unfortunately, the choir only sings through the end of May and then doesn't start back up until fall. We still have all the wonderful music all summer though. It is a large congregation but really doesn't feel that way. They offer many bible study classes and as soon as the new addition is dedicated (July) they will start Wed. night gatherings which will include small group studies and dinners etc.

We attend The Chapel of Christian Faith. It is the little white church on the historical side (Village of Orange Blossom Hills). It is a bible based, Christ centered church. It is small about 400 members in the winter less in the summer. We sing the music you prefer no drums or guiters It really is a wonderful church. Most people don't even know it exists.

Tri-County Baptist----relative small, traditional services and conservative theology located on Rolling Acres Road just south of 466. Also, Lady Lake United Methodist Church on 441 in Lady Lake or Wildwood United Methodist Church. Both are small and Traditional Methodist Churches. Good luck.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sumterville, Belleview, or Leesburg aligns with the needs you mentioned. I joined the Church 20 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. If you would lie more information please private message me. Also this link might be of benefit to you:

Have a great week!

I've got the church. I'm not kidding. It's called Adamsville Baptist Church. Southern Baptist. It's on 468 in Wildwood and about 10 minutes from Brownwood. We did the same thing and we know many others who did the same thing..went from church to church. We've been here over 5 years.

We actually like this one BECAUSE it's outside The Villages. So far we've brought in about 5 couples and they all absolutely love it. They all said the same thing..."you feel like you are home." Think Little House on the Prairie. One of our couples wrote me and said he's been in churches his whole life and ABC was by far the friendliest church he's ever gone to. This coming week a few of the hynms sung will be Victory In Jesus, Just as I Am, Holy Ground, to name a few.

We sang How Great Thou Art at St. Timothy's this very morning.

I hope you find the place that makes you feel comfortable and find friendliness and warmth in the folks up at the altar and sitting in the pew next to you.

One of these days we will all be singing those old songs all together in the village of Heavenly.

But for now...peace and love and prayers for the right place for you.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Summerfield up by Walmart on 441. You will absolutely love it. Wonderful people, incredible Pastor Mark and Pastor Paul. We searched quite a while to find a church where we felt we belonged...didnt find it until we walked thru the doors of trinity..Come visit us Sunday and we sing all the old gospel songs....

We have received several responses from Christian people who we know love their church. Until we find that "special church" my wife and I just don't feel our Villages life is complete. We don't want people to persieve us as cranky or complainers, we know a church family is out there for us and we will immediately know when we have found that church home. It is probably apparent to you we don't want to attend a church to be entertained, we want to be a part of the service. Again thanks to all who responded, we will be definately be taking some of your suggestions.

Warren
