Much has been said about today's kids. This is a current youtube video showing the kids at Lakota East High School in Cincinnati where my children and grandchildren attended and graduated. Our grandson said college was easy after Lakota. (Meaning he got a great education) This is a public school. And it was a little farm school when we moved there 40 years ago.
The kids are supporting Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Spina Bifada Awareness. This was an amazing technical endeavor and involved thousands of kids currently enrolled. I can see why so many get jobs right out of college. What a training field for the world they will live in. The photography and music is fantastic and the kids realness comes out at ya. I think you will enjoy their enthusiasm. AND love the kids. Go Lakota. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG6pZlLVzvI"]Lakota East Dub - YouTube[/ame]

Yes, we forget there are some fabulous public schools out there. I worked at one which was one of three in our district. We allowed the students to "open enroll" or attend any of the three they wished. Our school was always in demand. Most of the special ed kids wanted to come because the community thought our special ed teachers were fabulous. It became our largest department in the building. MANY of those kids took AP courses (yes, it's true) because the academic departments recruited kids by the dozens for those offerings and convinced kids and parents they could handle the work. Newsweek named us one of the top 100 high schools in the nation one year. Tuned out one of their important criteria was the number of students who took AP exams and successfully got college credit by achieving one of the three highest scores. What an exciting, positive place that was, and still is!

Don['t miss this. It made my day so bright.
Be patient through the first minute of this wonderful presentation supported by the school board and arranged by the kids currently enrolled in the National Honor Society....and then feel the love. All kinds of kids and all kinds of warmth.
