Default Has anyone used Rent A Wreck?

Relatives are coming and they need transportation. I have been pricing Hertz, Enterprise, and Rent A Wreck. Rent A Wreck is at least $15 a day cheaper than the other two. Has anyone dealt with this company? They are located on 441/27 near Fruitland Park.

I've used them, though not the one on 441/27 but rather one up north. Older but reliable cars, cannot use them for long distance, branch was honest to deal with, so no problems at all. I don't know if the branches are franchises or company owned. Good luck!

For a decade I was the "spokes-doof" for a Rent-A-Wreck franchise in New York state. Part of my pay package included getting the use of one of their cars so I was able to rave about how good it was. And yes..it was. However, because I was talking about them, I obviously had one of the best horses in the stable. If you are only going to use them locally, they're not a bad deal, but I would NOT trust any of their cars on any sort of trip. However, if your guests are used to going to Hertz or Avis and getting a nice new Ford or Buick, they are going to be VERY disappointed.

Andrew Blechman, the author of Leisureville, must have rented the car he drove to and around The Villages from this or a similar company. He wrote about how it leaked oil wherever he parked it. Not very eco-friendly.

Default rent a wreck

My nephew used the one in Oslo, Norway!! He raved about the car. He had a 5 hour drive home, no problems! And a 5 hour back one week later, still happy.

I used them to drive to Daytona and back. Had no problems. The car wasn't new but it was fine with me.

I visited RAW's "office" in FP recently as I was interested in using an older car to help us complete our local move (ie from one village to another). Not very impressed ... either with the quality or price. I did not do business with them and would not go back.

OTOH, recently rented a Minivan to take a vacation. Got a very good deal on Internet, went to TV Enterprise in LSL and showed them the printout. The manager matched it to get our business. I was very happy with the car they rented us and price and will go back.

I wouldn't believe a thing this guy writes...(Blechman)...He obviously had a cross to bear.....
