Default Things I Miss

Ennui has kicked in.

I miss laying in a girl's lap and having her bend over for a deep kiss, I miss chocolate malts after swimming (I can't drink them due to a bypass). I miss seeing important art for the first time....Picasso - Miro - and Mondrian ...with those color squares I stared at for hours. Laying on the beach in winter with Evelyn ---under a hundred blankets. I miss waking up with the expectation of new adventures...wondering what the day will bring. I miss not hurting. I miss holding my son and giving him his bottle and singing to him. I miss playing before a large crowd with a guitar so amped it was the sound of the gods. I miss coming home to family. I miss being young with all its mystery.

What do you miss?

I miss not being able to smell (lost that sense [100%] 30 years ago).

Yes, I can still taste. Chocolate ice cream still tastes like chocolate!

I miss the wolf whistles.

I miss not being seen by younger strangers. They look right through you sometimes.

I miss not hitting the golf ball as well as I used to.

I miss being able to run for miles like I used to.

I miss the notion that everyone is loving and believing in somewhere over the rainbow.

I miss packing a lunch, grabbing a book and my transistor, taking off on my bike and just going for the day -- especially to any surrounding woods. I miss silence.

And I'm with Gracie, I miss being acknowledged as a person because I'm over 60.

I have accepted who I am right now at this stage of my life...not wanting to go back to my past...life is good for me because I am happy. The only thing I do miss are hugs from my kids.

I miss being able to eat whatever I wanted and never gaining a pound.

I miss some of "what was" and am not yet used to "what is". This too shall pass.

I miss not being able to be as active as before (dang arthritis), but I relish the knowledge that I have from my lifetime of great experiences and the people whom I have met and lost. I look forward to more great experiences and more great people that I will meet, and, unfortunately, will lose.

I miss that hole in the ground where the little white ball is supposed to go. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I don't miss a darn thing. I embrace every step and every change life brings and do my absolute best to live in the moment with my eyes on the prize of life ever lasting. I'm grateful and thankful for all of life's experiences: past, present and future!
