Closest Commissary and Exchange is the Orlando NEX: The Orlando ITT Office, Navy Exchange, and Commisary | Military Disney Tips Blog

It's pretty close to Orlando Airport and we often stop there after dropping off visitors. It's about 30-45 minutes closer than MacDill. However, I don't believe NEX has a pharmacy. MacDill does have a pharmacy and hospital.

Wikipedia: The Base Realignment and Closure Commission (or BRAC) is an agency of the United States federal government, which aims to dispose of unnecessary United States Department of Defense (DoD) real estate. This aims to increase efficiency in line with Congressional and DoD objectives. More than 350 installations have been closed in five BRAC rounds: 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995 and the most recent round of BRAC completed and entered into law in November 2005.

Most insiders will acknowledge that BRAC has closed many bases...and has cost the US taxpayer billions in the process of closing those bases and upgrading the remaining bases to handle the consolidation of services.

BRAC has been a catastrophic success.

We miss not having military facilities nearby. However, mail order pharmacy support works quite well.

Bracking (may have misspelled it -- is base closing or base reduction - the number of bases (all branches) per state have been reduced a lot in past 10 yrs - this is a "big hurt" on retired veterans!
