Default Home Energy

Has anyone ever heard of a company called Home Energy. They sent me a post card inviting me to a free lunch at the Golden Coral. In return they would tell me how I can save 30% of my heating and cooling bills by buying their product. The product is basicall aluminun foil placed in our atic. The claim is that aluminun reflects heat in the summer and retains heat in the winter. Does anyone know anything about this company or claim?

I assume the lunch type marketing is expensive and as a result the product could probably be purchase for less elsewhere. I think the concept of putting an aluminum reflective barrier under the roof might be standard practice on new builds. At any rate I would look into it and check prices carefully.

Before spending money on this project, google "aluminium foil in attic" and read through some of the results. I don't know what they are charging but if you really wanted it done I'll bet a handyman could do the same job for a lot less.

On one site I found was a man asking about a offer to do the job for $1.50 a square foot. A 1500 sq ft home will have a roof sq footage of roughly 2000 sq ft $1.50 times 2000 = $3000
