We bought new Yamaha fuel injection cart (2013). The dealer said we may some slip/jerk under startup acceleration or accelerating up a hill from a stop. The dealer says if we don't like the clutch they'll switch it to another type of clutch that operates more smoothly on fast or hilly start. We wonder if we should pursue replacement or just live with it. The problem is not severe and is avoidable. However we are wondering about long term wear/tear as well as the relative quality between the two clutch options. Anyone have any experience/knowledge that can help us?

We have the same model cart. We noticed a distinct jerk when starting from a stop with moderate acceleration. The dealer offered to change the drive belt to reduce or eliminate the problem. It appears to be a wider/thicker belt and the result is slower acceleration. At first, the new belt created a shudder upon starting out, but the dealer warned that might happen and that it would disappear, and it did. But the jerky start is gone. I think they told us the new belt was one used for rental carts and was intended to last longer.
BTW, the installer had us keep the original belt in case we wanted to change back. |

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a soln. Before I pursue further two questions.
Is the slower acceleration enough to be an issue for you? Are you happy with the new belt? |

I had problems with my clutch. They suggested I take the model with the replacement clutch for a ride. It was like a gold cart on steroids. Loud, engined reved at max RPMS. I told them to FORGET the new clutch. They changed my belt and did something else I'll live with the jerking over the replacement clutch.

I purchased a 2013 Yamaha, as well. I experienced those belt slipping/jerk issues discussed above also. I took it back to TV Cart Store yesterday and the salesman who sold the cart to me drove it. We experienced the same issues on the drive and he said its fine; just indicative of carts with fuel injection. It's disappointing to say the least, to have to accept a engineering design flaw. May have bought the wrong brand!

You will not find this issue with their carts. You may have to talk to someone, other than your salesman... |

Before you buy a new yamaha, check out carts and clubs in ocala. They are a authorized yamaha dealer and 3 of my friends bought their yamaha gas carts from them. They claim they are built better and have a better service dept. They come to your house for all maintenance issues.

![]() Please go back to TV Cart store and insist they fix your cart, free of charge. You should still be under warranty. Janet |

Another major thumbs-up for Carts and Clubs near Ocala on 27/441. On our street 29 home owners out of 31 bought at Carts and Clubs. The enclosure is superior. The lighting is much better. Almost all service is done at the end of our driveway. We're just a bunch of really happy cart owners.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I am happy with the new belt. While the acceleration is not a quick as the old belt, it is still more than adequate. I still have the other belt and Carts and Clubs told me they would put it back if I want to at no charge.

I have the same cart and had the same problem. TV took the cart in and replaced the clutch but I said it was too loud, they then picked it up again and replaced it again. Seems better
I am looking for some help to quiet it down! Too noisy for me. |

Does anyone know if Yamaha intends to fix the problem of poor performance on the 2013 gas carts or just continue to try and fix the problem after market? Seems they are not succeeding after market with any type of success.
Thanks ![]() ![]() |
