Default Lottery Winner a Senior

I just saw on Nightly News that a 84 year old Florida Lady won the big jackpot. What in the world would you do with so much money? She reports that someone let her go in front of him in line and she got the winning quick pick ticket. How would you feel if you was the person that let her get the winning ticket? That is some story!!

It would indeed be a nice gesture to give the courteous gentleman a $2M tip. I wonder how much she will actually be able to pocket after income taxes and how much will remain after estate taxes when she passes.

A wealthy one anyway!

I wonder if she would consider adopting me?

Good for her. I hope she makes the most of her life and enjoys as much of it as she can. How would any of us spend that kind of money?

The 84 year old lady (Gloria Mackenzie) from Zephyhills Florida will receive 270 million after taxes in a lump sum. I don't know about her estate taxes it depends in part how much she gives away. Google says she lives in a modest home with a tin roof among manufacture homes in Zephyhills.

If I were the winner I would certainly give the young woman & her family a couple million. The young woman said she was taught to be kind to her elders; her (approx 12yo) daughter said "It's better to be polite than rich." I would be sick to my stomach. But, what goes around comes around. Maybe she'll win someday. I can tell you I'd definitely need to be on an allowance; I'd have that money spent (buy things + give to charities) in no time!

I would pay the mortgage of all our family and friends, give lots to charity, buy something on the beach and travel!

If I am not mistaken, the news said she will get 290 million after taxes.

Not to the bank - to investments.
