Default Rada's owner passed away..she needs a home.

Rada's owner, Gary/Geewiz passed away and she needs a new home. She was nervous, and has a calm sweet temperament after a day of getting to know me.
She can't get enough petting. Not eating yet..Gary gave her the best food and I have that for her.
I would get her groomed but will need her vet records.
I can't keep her...the dog is fine with her, but my cat has to be separated from her, and would likely be aggressive.

pm me for a phone number or send yours...

I'm grooming Rada now. She's very sweet about it.

Wish I could help you Kitty but with two dogs of my own - one an 8 month puppy - I can't bring a new baby into the mix. Good luck. You have a difficult mission.

GeeWiz mentioned that Rada is a Siberian cat - they lack a specific protein that causes most cat allergies, and many people who think they would be allergic can really live with them. They are also very affectionate and kind of dog-like in personality. (Sorry that I already have some!). But please consider Rada!

thanks, quirky! I wondered about her breed...she's beautiful. I'll post another picture after she dries off. She was amazingly good during the grooming and it took a couple of hours she must have viewed as torture.

Kitty - you are an angel. Gary is smiling down on you and Rada. Hope she fines a fine home and can get settled into her next adventure. He sure loved that cat.

We already have two kitties, two are what is allowed. Our two boys, Mikey, Harry and Hershey are not very gracious hosts to other animals they haven't grown up with.

I am hoping and praying someone loving will bring Rada home.

Does anyone know if Gary will have a memorial service here? If not, shouldn't we try to do something in his memory?

Gracie, I asked Dr WB about doing a memorial at Beatlemaniacs...if that doesn't work out we'll do something else. waiting to hear if the family is coming and when. Gary's family in Chicago will bury him there.

Upon reading the last sentence, a thought immediately came into mind and here is a suggestion based on that thought. If someone was willing to plan and organize it, a memorial bench could be purchased if enough of us were willing to chip in with a reasonable donation to cover the $675 cost. Individuals could also purchase a Veterans Memorial Brick if they wanted to for $55. Here is a link to the VCDD page that gives more detail about both programs: Village Community Development Districts

Hurray! Rada's eating!
My dog Emma is a very calm girl most of the time. I let her on the lanai with Rada and Emma gets it when I tell her not to look at the cat.
What an amazing puppy.

Bravo for you and Emma. I hope Rada will find a wonderful home. She must be very discombobulated right now. If we didn't have a bird, I would love to have a cat for our dog, who loves kitties.

Rada, who started out hissing and hiding, is now rubbing against me and rolling over all kittenish. I think she's happy now that her fur is dry...we'll have round 2 of grooming another day. She needs a baptism by immersion.

Did you speak with the family about Rada? I never met Gary, wish I had, he seemed like a good hearted gentle soul. I could tell from his posts that he really loved that cat, did he express with anyone what he wanted?

No, he didn't leave any wishes and yes, the family are coming soon, but no one can take her that I've talked to..they'll be asking around as well.
