On yesterday's evening news/weather report from Albany, New York.....the meteorologist said that we all will be experiencing FLORIDA WEATHER over this long 4th of July holiday.........the new anchor chimed in that we can all save on airlines tickets to Florida.

So, we will enjoy our "Taste of Florida Weather".....this week....

It will be a stretch of 90 and 91 degree days with 70 to 73 overnight temps.
High Humidity and High Dewpoint. Daily thunderstorms.*

It is soupy out....but thankfully, we have airconditioning....as do Floridians.

Our carpet installer was so happy to be working in air conditioning the past three days........as it is the humidity that gets to him. Most homes up here do not have the "air".

Unfortunately, our "neck of the woods" (upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire) have been experiencing really bad washouts with the heavy rains daily......for the longest time now. Months of rain.

Flooding in various towns as well.........like a "rerun" of what Tropical Storm/Hurricane Irene did a few years back......so many homes damaged by water and "muck".....roads washing out. In some neighborhoods, people being cut off by the mudslides from the rain....onto their only road out. It's like "Groundhog Day" the movie about everything repeating.

With this severe "climate change" it probably doesn't much matter where one lives..........as every place has something going on these days.

The weather is so strange everywhere. Kinda scary. Maybe Al Gore wasn't so wrong after all.

The weather here in Central Florida is more typical of Florida weather the past two years than in the first four years I lived here.

Ample rainfall reduces our water bills increases our weed growth but embraces my landscaping. The longer I live here the more I appreciate my decision to locate in TV

It sure has been a lousy June in MA. Lots of rain, usually coinciding with my golf schedule. Looks like much of the east coast. Now the heat and humidity is on. The issue for us is we do not have central air.

I have never had air conditioning until TV and when we built our home 25 years ago, we decided we did not need it. Another brilliant decision by Alan, made better by the fact I put in forced hot water for heat (no ducts)

Normally the heat does not last like FL...... normally... usually.... hopefully.....

PS. Unless weather.com is wrong, where I live in MA is 79 degrees right now and FL is 73 (wt*)

One of our biggest concerns with the thought of retiring in TV is the heat and humidity of FL. Although I'm a native Texan, I've lived in the cooler climates of Germany and New England for the last 20 years. I think I can adapt again to FL weather. My partner, on the other hand, has spent her 58 years in New England.

We golfed yesterday in the 90 degree heat and humidity that we are experiencing here in the White Mountains. After the round, I turned to her and said "You survived out there today - I guess this means we can move to FL afterall!" I'm not sure she was convinced.

Here in eastern NH, we have escaped the heavy rains. But we had a front that has us hot/humid one day or cool/faint the next. Sunny today, high in the 90s.

If you need someone to blame - look right here. We still have our lake home in NH and were on the fence about selling it. We made the decision to stay here in TV until mid-July. I wasn't sure I could survive the heat and humidity of central FL - so we wanted to figure out when we'll need to leave in the coming years after the lake house is gone.
Well, so far, so good. My body has definitely acclimated to the levels of heat and humidity we've experienced so far. We are either golfing early in the morning or late afternoon. Must say that I'm playing some of the best golf of my life (guess my muscles and tendons like being warm after all)... We make sure we have plenty of water and a zip lock bag of ice with face cloths. But then, that's in my bag up north in August when it's hot in NH.
So - we're sorry you are all experiencing a miserable summer so far up north.. I'll happily take the blame. Expect the weather to change after the 15th of the month.

Just my 2 cents -- you and your partner may want to rent in TV for a week or two (or longer if you can) in The Villages during the summer months to see how you adapt. I have rented twice in TV in the summer to see how I would like it (I have lived in the Midwest all my life), and I did just fine

Last year on July 4 it was 102 degrees in Chicago which set the record for high temp. on July 4; today it is 82 and partly cloudy.

We have been having the 3 H's here at the Jersey Shore for a few weeks. Temp, humidity and dew point comparable to the same in TV. Oh yea, and either the threat of, or having rain, rain and more rain!
