Default auto insurance recommendations

I have done a search on the forum for auto/car insurance and have come up with a gazillion pages ranging far and wide and having nothing to do with car insurance. So... I tried; please help if you can!

We need to register our MI cars in FL. Does anyone have a recommendation for an insurance company?

On a side note: do we need the car titles to effect the FL registration, or will the registration papers from MI do? One car is paid for; one is not.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, you need the title, but the dmv will arrange to get it for you. I would suggest Villages Insurance, or AAA if you are a member.

We went with AAA for both auto and home.

Keriann Varney - 352-753-2500.

We have had several claims (unfortunately) in the past 3 years and have been very happy with Travelers through The Villages Insurance Office.

Thanks, we just found that out when we went to get our drivers licenses. Trying to get this done before our next MI insurance payment comes due, so we don't have to pay and then wait (and wait and wait) for a refund.

I totally agree .... AAA and call Kerriann. She is excellent at what she does, conscientious and always follows up too.

We used Thomas Insurance Agency out of Leesburg 352 326-8021. They are an independent agency and will shop for the best deal for you. I also like the fact they are a small town business that works hard to keep their clients. They have to work to keep your business, not just handed to then cause they have "The Villages" title.

We recently had an issue with our mortgage company not paying our premium and they stepped right up to resolve the issue eventhough it wasn't their problem. They also recently called because they found a company that would give us a lower premium, but the difference wasn't enough to justify a change in our mind. My point is they really are working for you not just collecting their commission.

Thanks, gomoho. Was that for your cars or your home? Or do they do both? We are coming from a very customer-oriented broker inn MI, and I'm a bit nervous.

Okay, I am going to hijack my own thread. Our MI insurance company only charged $100 deductible for something that wasn't our fault--golf ball denting the car (Executive Auto guy was amazed at that small deductible), scratches from other cars in parking lots, stones from trucks on highway, etc. We travel a lot, and one of our cars seems to be a magnet for being victimized (four times in two years), and I am looking for that kind of coverage that protects us against damage that's not our fault. Does anyone have knowledge of a car insurance company like that in FL?

Home, car and golfcart. We have shopped and could maybe get a few bucks cheaper, but having someone we can actually get on the phone to assist if there is a problem to us is "priceless". Might be worth giving them a call if you are looking for customer-oriented.

we did our house with The Villagers Insurance, they couldn't come close to our NY rates.

So we R waiting for those NY polices to expire.
