I would agree to have this. It may be applicable for type one diabetics that live alone and have hypoglycemic unawareness.

quirky3, Thank you for posting this -- very interesting. My 83 y/o dad has been a widower for quite a few years, and him falling and being on the floor for several hours/days is a worry for me, and he won't wear one of "Life Alert" type devices. I will have to do more research on these gadgets.

I think it's a good idea for people who are basically functional but might fall down and can't get up. That happens a lot. I read that about 50% of people in nursing homes are there because they have that problem. When I lived on East Schwartz, in The Villages, I knew of a few who had that problem. There were lots of widows there who were friends and I'm sure they would have been willing to monitor each other.

Friends monitoring friends, how about that? They live close to each other whereas relatives might be far away.
