Default Mall & Cheesecake Factory????

I heard that we are supposed to be getting a mall and a Cheesecake Factory down by Brownwood. Does anyone know if it's true?

Default Change is coming!

Atrium Dell 500,000 sq ft Power Center adjacent to Brownwood. No stores have been confirmed. I saw that a hospital will be build on 44. Build it and they will come!

Plans for this have changed. TV hospital has decided instead to expand at its current location. This was formally announced on May 8.

Thanks, local reality company web site trying to sell land adjacent to Brownwood is promoting a hospital at the corner 462/44. Buyer beware!

no mall, no cheesecake factory. not enough traffic, and other than the residents of the villages the demographics of the area do not support such an investment.

I disagree! Google "The Villages Commercial Property Sales & Leasing"
Look under "Traffic Count" The traffic projection for CR 466A and SR44 in 2014 almost equals CR466. I believe Brownwood area will probably be like Spanish Spring 441/27. Remember that Morse Blvd will intersect with SR44. CR468 which will be near Morse is slated to become a new on/off ramp from I 75. I believe both sides of CR 44 will be commercial. Change is coming, like it or not! Somebody going to build it and they will come!

This has been discussed many times on this forum. Now the waiting will declare a winner. I am sure that many businesses will come to that area and it will be very much like the areas on 466 and 441/27 in TV.

I think I remember reading that there have been no new large "traditional" malls with department store anchors built in this country in the last seven years.

Correct me if I am wrong. I often am.

I agree because some of the mall's up here in VA are hurting. Some have been bulldozed and old fashion strip shopping center have gone up. It cycles and malls are going out and strip shopping center are in. I believe that any business on the opposite side from TV on CR 44 WILL NOT BE GO CART ACCESSIBLE like Home Depot/Sams Club on 441/27. I believe that existing Wildwood 301 strip will be left out. There will be alot of people living around and south of CR 466A. Somebody is going to capture that market of people living in that area. I believe the biggest area to boom is probably be around CR 468 and CR 44. Remember the Rolling Arces expansion to CR 44 that was shut down due to budget. That expansion would have kept the traffic flowing from 441/27 to CR 44/CR 468/I75 and off of Morse Blvd. Its all going to work out but in the meantime its changing before my eyes.

There is an 880,000 square foot enclosed mall under construction on University Blvd in Sarasota which is scheduled to open in 2014. The anchor stores are Saks, Macy's and Dillard's.

Opening October 16, 2014 - The Mall at University Town Center
