Default Produce stand on 466

Just drove by the produce stand on 466 and it looks closed up. Are they on vacation or closed for good? The only sign that is up,is for the seafood stand next door everything else is gone. Does anyone know what happened?

Saw that this morning and also wondered what's going on. That stand has been in business for a number of years. Hope someone has an answer

We stopped their a few times, and he always negotiated some prices, instead of having signs with the prices on the merchandise. Especially when he was selling local peaches!! I'm not surprised if he closed up. Turning in there seems to be an issue too. Might pay more, but Fresh Market seems to always have good fresh produce. (and of course, there's always the Farmers Mkt)

He told me the peaches were from Washington, they were good. He also told me they were from God. Maybe that's what made them "local", you know God is everywhere.

I was by there last week and bought some pecans. The young lady told me that business had been so slow they were closing up. I guess between the grocery stores and the farmer's market days, they couldn't compete - but that is just my guess, I really don't know.

The Lighthouse Seafood guy was setup at Brownwood on Saturday and told us that the fruit business on 466 was going out of business. He also stated that he will be at Brownwood for a few more Saturdays, then he will be taking over the space that the fresh fruit business occupied for his fish business.

Lighthouse Seafood will be moving in the produce stand building. He told us while we were buying some of his fish at the farmers market. He has a store in Lake Mary so he isn't just some guy selling fish from the back of a pick up truck full of coolers. He brings it from his seafood store. His fish is worth the price for locally caught fish.

For produce, try Fernando's Produce at 1665 SE Highway 42 in Summerfield.
The owner of Lighthouse Seafood is Danny. I thought that Fresh Market had the best fish. Then 3 different people told me how good The Lighthouse Seafood was. I was concerned about buying out of a cooler. It turns out that the fish is actually better laying on ice than in refrigeration. The temperature is colder. He has the best and freshest fish that I have had since moving to The Villages 12 years ago. Give it a try.
