We have decided to stretch our garage 2 ft.
we have already done a 2 ft stretch on the guest room side of our "Sunflower". Now my question is: Does the garage stretch just include the garage or is it the entire length of the house like the 2 ft guest room side stretch which goes from den in the front to lanai in the back? I have looked for this answer to no avail. TIA |

On our home the garage stretch was just that, just the garage. Ask at the design meeting.

The garage is your basement. Every little bit of space helps.

We stretched our garage 2' and also the front bedroom, master bedroom and Lanai (4') of our Iris. You will not regret the decision to stretch your garage. We are so glad we did it. It gave us room to place storage on the back wall and still fit our SUV in with room to spare.

We did a 4' stretch to the side in the garage of our Iris - a must in my opinion for storage. I wish we would have thought to extend it into the laundry room as well for additional cabinet space, but didn't think about it. It's been easy to downsize our furniture to fit the house, but not so much with the little things that need to go in closets, cabinets, etc.

Without the stretch in our designer house you would only have about 2' from the end of our mini van to the wall (no room for storage cabinets/shelves, etc.). Since you are building a Sunflower, you have the golf cart garage so you will have extra space behind your cart for storage. If possible, I'd go for a stretch to the rear and side. You can never have enough space, and like another poster mentioned, this is your basement in FL.
