I love the bischons. Are they difficult to take care of?? Also love the terriers? Something like a benji looking dog?? Remember benji??

We have a 3-1/2 year old Bichon female. She was purchased from a breeder in Clearwater, FL. It is a pleasure having her in our home. The breed is very smart and not difficult to train. Her beautiful white fuzzy coat does take some time with brushing and combing. She gets groomed every 4 weeks. Our Bichon has made a positive impact on our lives.

Terriers are cute. They are also very active, quite barky and need a lot of training to make them civilized. If it's a choice, I'd go for the Bichon

I agree. Every time I see another dog I think I might like next (smaller, less shedding, cheaper to feed, etc.), I ask my long-time Michigan groomer about the breed. She's seen them all, and how they respond to the sometimes stressful situation of being groomed.

She agrees with jblum about terriers. Also says the Wheaton terriers can be just plain strange. (Although I met one at the dog park in Key West who was fantastic.)

We adopted a rescue Bichon end of May. He has been in 5 different homes including ours to date. First breeder, then new owner, who passes about 4 months after buying him and his brother, then to foster home with out his brother and finally ours. He's been through a lot of trauma for his first 10 months but is finally starting to feel secure. He's had issues but is lovable and cute. Very little shedding (had standard poodles before) so that is nice. He can be stubborn but is starting to learn who is boss in the family. Not always him. BratPack is the resuce group we adopted through. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Can you post a picture of him? He's one lucky dog to have found his forever family.
