Default New Sweetbay

I found surprisingly little (and nothing recent) on this topic. Anybody know where this store is going to be? And when it is going to open?

Polar Bear, it looks like it should be ready to open very soon.

It is on 466A near the municipal building and new library to the west of The Villages homes in that area.

Can someone give me a status on the shopping center near the library? Look forward to the completion of the stores. Thanks in advance!

They had a very fast start last spring. It seems to have slowed down. It's under roof, but no facade yet.

A UPS Store will be opening near the new Sweetbay - hopefully by Thanksgiving. Same owners as The UPS Store in Spanish Plaines on 441.

This is FANASTIC news! It is irritating to have to pay the people in Colony Plaza $1 every time we have a UPS package to be returned.

The best thing that could open there IMO is a U.S. Post Office, where we could ship FLAT-RATE boxes, and have a P.O. that stays open thru normal business hours until at least 5pm.

Default We agree

One of the few negative surprises in TV is the lack of a convenient post office. Wonder why with so many of us sending stuff frequently.

I bet they would put one in if The Villages built the building, and paid the taxes??

With the Post Office in danger of financial collapse, I don't think we can count on a PO being put in TV. We should cross our fingers that the ones we have will not be closed down. Every time we go to the one in Wildwood, which is not inconvenient at all to those of us who live around 466A, I cross my fingers,. It is so not crowded, and I'm afraid it will eventually go on the chopping block, as many have.

The one on the other end of 466A is not inconvenient either. But I realize that we aren't trying to get there in golf carts.

Many years ago we signed a petition for TV to have their own post office. Enough signatures were received to petition the PO. The recession began and we were told the PO did not have the money to open another PO. Maybe this is an issue the VHA can pursue.

There's a post office in Wildwood, not that far from the new Pinellas Place center (on 301)
