Default Calling all crafters

To all of you crafty people out there......where are good places to show and sell our home made crafts?? I am an avid jewelry maker and have more inventory than I can store so I need outlets to sell my jewelry. Any ideas??

an outside table at the markets of marion...or perhaps advertise a weekly or bi-weekly or monthly jewelry special garage sale? market night? or maybe one of the villages nail salons would 'rent' you a space if they had a vacant nail tech table?

the blue parrot rv resort on rt 25 has a big annual craft fair - in feb, i think.

always wondered the same thing about where i could sell my golf cart lapghhans when we are there 'in season'!

Your best bet is to sign up ($$$) for www.craftmasternews.com or http://festivalnet.com. They list all the craft show and festivals. You can search by distance from zip code. They are wonderful but some things to note. Most of the bigger shows require you to fill out applications months in advance. You'll also need good pictures of your products, photos of you making the product and photos of your display.

Jewelry is a very competitive category as there are many many people competing for the limited spots in the category. Really spend some time creating your display. It could separate you from the others. Don't get discouraged when you don't get accepted, just keep at it. Go to shows and see what others are doing and adapt.

Good luck, it's alot of fun and there is LOTS of money to be made. Just be patient and keep an open mind to new ideas.

Have you considered Etsy's? It's a website that highlights various crafters' products. People order directly from the crafts person. I have no idea how it works or how much it costs to join up etc.

Thank you for the suggestions. I think I am going to try Etsy! I really don't want to get into large craft shows at this point. The large shows that come to TV require a lot of set up and you never know what weather you have to prepare for. Thanks for responding, everyone.
