Default Unfavorable experience at Jewelers

About 2 years ago, my daughter purchased an expensive watch from Arden Jewelers in Lake Sumter while she was in town visiting us. It was a 15 year anniversary gift from her husband. It was a high end Tissot watch with a 2 year warranty.

The watch was working intermittently and when she was here in April she took it back to Arden and they replaced the battery. It only worked for a short time and when she was here in July, she again returned it to the store. At that time, she asked that a jeweler look at it since the battery didn't resolve the problem. A day later they called to let her know the watch was ready and the battery had been replaced.

After she returned home, the watch again stopped working. She called Arden and they told her to send the watch to Tissot. They also told her they would reimburse her for the shipping (they never did).

She sent the watch to Tissot. Tissot sent the watch back saying it was fixed. It worked for a short time then stopped again. She called Arden and asked to speak to the owner. The owner, Blake called her back and said he would take care of the matter and have the rep look into it. This never happened

She called Tissot herself and spoke to someone who sent her the FedEx info to send the watch back to them. He told her he would handle it personally. They had the watch for another 2 to 3 weeks. The watch was returned to her and again worked for a short while before stopping.

My daughter called Arden and again spoke to the owner, Blake. She told him she wanted her money back or a new watch. Blake said he would not do either on a 2 year old watch. The watch was well within the warranty period before all this began. He told her she could buy another watch from them and he would give her 50% off. That's not going to happen. He told her not to call back

She has sent the watch back to Tissot for a third time and requested they replace the watch. She has not yet heard from them.

My husband and I both visited Arden's when our daughter initially was having problems with the watch. They assured us she would be taken care of and that they would have the rep follow up with Tissot. None of this happened.

Personally, I will not do business with Arden Jewelers. I do not do business with a store that does not stand behind its product and does not provide good customer service.

Sometimes, and I do mean sometimes, I have read that there is an issue with the wearer and battery operated watches. Something in the the wearers system that seems to act negatively with a battery watch and tends to drain it rather quickly. Try to Google it and see if there is something on the internet about the situation you are in.
Just a thought, but may be worth a search. Good luck.

Regardless of whose fault it is, all this running around and calling (and being put on hold for hours in various phone calls) is an example of the buyer serving the product/mfr. instead of it serving her. Not a good example of how to treat customers.
