Default removing columns in a Gardenia

We are seriously considering the purchase of a spec Gardenia. It's close to what we've been looking for, except it has the columns. Has anyone had their columns in a Gardenia removed? Is it a major job to have done (including the needed repair/patch work to the ceiling)?
Thank you for any input!

I've seen the columns for sale in the classified section, so I know it's been done. I'm sure someone will chime in.

We removed the center column in our Gardenia - it is not load bearing. We also removed the drop down ceiling area from between the two columns.

The removed column was installed on the angled wall by the living area.

We are very happy with what we did. It opened up the area and made the living and kitchen areas much lighter.

Do you recall who did the job and would you recommend them?
Thanks!
