Default Playing With Black & White Photos

Took some of my existing photos, and am experimenting with black and white for a different dimension

do you have the option to color just one item in the photo..my camera allows this and make the black and white pop

Asianthree, my camera is very basic. I upload my photos to my computer, and the program Picasa 3, allows me to change a photo to black and white, along with many other creative options. However, due to my sight impairment, I keep "tinkering" to a minimum - hubby is my final critic as what I think I see, is not in reality, the same thing

I love these. My favorites of all your work. The depth that can be capture with black and white photos can't be matched with color...except in color slides. Remember those?

There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.

I especially like the contrast, Shrandell.... bright brights, dark shadows. Your work and compositions are consistently appealing, in my opinion.
Never would think of using B&W for landscapes, but then one day I saw the work of Ansel Adams!
Portraits are great that way, too.... elegant and dramatic. (like Alfred Stieglitz)
I'm glad you are joyfully embracing this- keep sharing!

Thank you all for your compliments, kind words, encouragement and offers of new ideas. I am loving my new hobby. "Uptown Girl" I too am a fan of Ansel Adams, and much admire his use of shadows. I always carry my camera..................
