Unfortunately a lot of the weather forecasters and FEMA workers have been furloughed.

Default Louisiana in the Path Again

This is precisely why I made the move from lower Plaquemines Parish south of New Orleans, LA. to The Villages last October. It seems that all storms which develop in or near the southern Gulf of Mexico have a bulls-eye on the Louisiana coast, possibly due to the loop current there. Even 3-4 foot of tide surge will affect that low lying area. Prayers for all my friends that T/S Karen fizzles out and doesn't become another Issac from last year and flood the area.
