Default Golf Cart Problem

we have a 08 xrv cart. we tried to hook up volt meter and two wires touched and caused a spark, now when turning switch on sounds like a set of contacts kick in but nothing happens when peddle is pushed down. what and where should a person look for a problem. i found one 30amp fuse but is okay

All comes down to how comfortable you are working on the cart. Based on what happened, I suspect you need a wiring diagram for your cart and the ability to measure where voltage is and is not to isolate the issue. The clicking is likely a micro switch or maybe a solenoid/relay.

After that click it could be anything from a fried component, to a wire that burned (I have CARELESSLY put 48 volts down wires that can carry 12). It is like watching a fuse burn down on a stick of dynamite, except faster ....

Honestly, if you are not comfortable reading a wiring diagram and evaluating where you have voltage and where you do not, I would bring in someone to help.

If you are up for the challenge, you can post here, or with Frank or buggiesgonewild.com
