I just had a trust set up this week. We used Amy Reed Pittman, 352-753-4430. She was recommended to us and I would recommend her.

Note to other Trusts . If you have a trust in a different state make sure it is consistent with Florida Laws.

The Millhorn law firm has specialists that will get what is needed to be sure all is compliant with Florida as well as any out of state that an individual may require.

They do it all i.e. wills, estate planning, trust planning, et al.

Very effective and resonably priced.

I am not sure what constitutes "reasonable" but for the bargain hunters, just remember you get what you pay for. It works at the other end of the scale also where you can get taken to the cleaners on price so due diligence is the key word.

That being said, I used Mary Trotter for my trust. She often does the AARP estate planning seminars and used to offer a discount to AARP members. My (our) trust was $2500 (less the AARP discount) but (a) it was fairly complicated in that we have some disabled grandchildren who require some special handling in a trust, and (b) it also included updated wills for both of us, health care power of attorney for both of us, and a few other related documents.

Default can be much less

I also used Mary Trotter for my trust and my husband's will. Depends on how complicated your estate is. Mine was much less than the above post. Includes a special needs trust for one of my daughters who has a health issue.

Not everyone needs a trust, sometimes a simple will will do.

I don't think a simple will and trust should cost anywhere near $2500

If the person is getting a family trust or joint trust plus simple wills etc, yes $2500 appears high BUT if the estate is such that separte individual trusts (or also called A/B trusts) are required.... you are getting close to $2500....and the tax savings alone from not having probate would be worth it in that ta bracket.

I used Attorney Brett Swigert, 352-347-0033.

I highly recommend him.
