Default Beach board walks near Orlando

My sister is visiting for a conference in Orlando and would like to finish the trip at on the beach where there is a board walk with several restaurants and bars. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The west coast of Florida - would be preference for this week since East Coast starting in Daytona is mobbed with Biketoberfest. Tarpon Springs is boardwalk nice with water way, though not a beach.

I would second John's Pass. The St. Pete Beach area is just great. You cannot imagine the powder-soft white sand on the wide beaches. Madeira Beach is in the same area and is excellent, too.

What is the travel time to John's Pass from TV. Cococa Beach has a nice pier and Beach and from OIA only about 45 minutes.
