Default Any one have a design meeting recently??

Ours is coming up just before thanksgiving. Can't wait!

If you are also one of the last to design your home, we would love to hear how your experience was.

Thanks!

Just remember to take your time in desiging your home. The tendency is to rush you through the process. If you want changes, ie., streches, moving walls, adding or deleting windows, lights, fans, electricals, etc, don't be concerned about asking if it can be done. You can also ask pricing as you go along the process, knowing where you are in the building costs.
Good luck and have fun, but do your homework prior to the design date.

Go to as many open houses as you can prior to your meeting to get ideas - especially pre-owned homes. There are so many things to pick out that you can be overwhelmed. Put serious thought about where you want extra electrical and water outlets. I wish we had our fans put on dimmer switches to control the speed. Didn't even think about it. Also, should have had a ceiling fan put in the master bath. These things would have been so much easier during the build. If you're getting vertical blinds on your patio doors, remember to get inside mount if you want to add drapery panels. So much to think about. Good Luck!
