Default Good and Bad Contractors

This post is a precursor to what I will be posting about good and bad contractors and services. Because of various renovations, we have been using all kinds of contractors and services. My finding so far? Those that TOTV recommended are usually getting high marks. One has to be careful even here since sometimes the contractors themselves are self promoting as though they are one of us. I think word of mouth really helps. Even if they have retail stores in The Villages that doesn't mean they are necessarily good. They won't run away like cold call solicitors but they could do a shoddy job as one experienced. Even after you hear high marks here, ideally go and see the actual work done. Find out where they actually did the work in TV. Stay tuned.

Check with the BBB to see if any of the contractors you might be using, have any issues and always get at least 3 bids for the job.

X-CEL contractors are the best. Added golf cart garage and new interior space, they
did an excellent job, completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
