Default Disney Ride

I am considering going over to Disney to see a young family member from MA dance in her school's performance. Is there any king of 'group day travel' that goes over to Disney?? The last time I did this, it cost me $100 for a private driver - one way. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate them. This performance is on Sunday Nov 10 at 5 PM. I would hope to be there early in the morning to spend the time with the family and return here to TV in the evening. HELP!

Maybe see if you can take the shuttle to the airport and the Disney bus from there?

The Disney bus won't take you unless you are staying on property (at least that is my understanding). There is a Mears shuttle which goes to Disney, not sure if they would go to a park, but the shuttle can be taken to one of the Disney resorts and you can take a bus over to the park from there. Between the shuttle to the airport and the shuttle to Disney, you aren't going to save much money and then there is the time factor and hassle of all of the connections.

Can you drive? If so, have you considered renting a car? I can't imagine that a one day rental will cost you $100.

Thanks for the info re Mears. I just figured round-trip shuttle/bus would be around $100, which would have been $100 cheaper than the driver she had since it was $100 each way.

If you drive you may want to consider staying at one of the value resorts on Disney property. They are usually around $100 a night. You could park your car and check in and then take The Disney transportation to the parks and back to the resort at night. Both the buses and the resorts are very safe with lots of people around.

There are also some nice off property motels. We used to stay at the Baymont Inn on Black Lake Rd in Celebration - according to Wyndhamrewards.com, the rate for 1 person the night of 11/10 is $50.36 It is just off of Irlo Bronson and a nice property.

Ramada Kissimmee Gateway is on Irlo Bronson and is $44.10 for the night of 11/10. Have stayed there - also a nice, clean property.

Both are roughly 10 minutes from Magic Kingdom.

If you have never driven down, quickest way is Toll Road.

Have a Magic trip.
