Default Lake county and driver's license office?

My sister is moving from Tampa to Lake County. She needs to change the address of her driving license, does this need to be done in Lake county only as there seems to be only one location that deals with licenses and that is in Tavares, way too far if you ask me. Or can she go to a closer DMV location in another county, such as the one on Powel Rd, in Sumter county to do that?

Oops it might be the tag place to get your tags for your car. When we moved here went to the office on 441/27 behind the mcDonalds to change everything from Michigan to Florida . The office near the bowling alley we used this year to renew our license plates for the car.

I have the phone number of the Avienda place and will call them on Monday am, but I am pretty sure it is not for Driver's licenses. I believe from what I researched that I can go to any location that does driver's licenses and they all don't,for an address change to a driver's license. Will let you know what I find out on Monday.

We have moved from Palm Beach county. I just ordered replacement licenses and registrations with our new address from the Florida Highway Dept. Started out at this link GoRenew.com. For a $25 fee, the site accepts address changes and issues a replacement license with the existing expiration date. It's $6.50 for car registrations. I guess they reuse the last file photo. We have not gotten the new ones yet. If this works as advertised, it saves the hassle of going in person.

Thanks everyone. To clarify, I was asking if you could do an address change on your license at a facility that is not in your county. Sister will be living in Lake county, but much more convenient if Sumter county's location on Powell Road could do so. Just didn't know if it could be done there as she is living in Lake county.
Buzzy, I saw that service, let me know it if works. Thanks! I believe it states at least 10 business days or something to process.

You might want to try on Tuesday as Monday is the holiday and they maybe closed.

Yes, I will report the final results back here. I just received one of the car registrations at my new address, however it still had my old address printed on it. So that did not work as planned, and I wasted 2 x $6.50. I have higher expectations for the licenses, since the web site specifically said that the new address would be on the card. We'll see.

There is one on Avenida Central and Oak meadows. Next to bowling alley.
