Default Interesting

When I log on to the singles forum I almost always see that people are viewing, but there is very little chatter on this forum.

Are the singles in TV shy?

I move to TV in April but I'm concerned that, not being shy, I might not fit in.

Yeah, I'd give it up if I were you...naah, kidding. I think most people are too darn busy living to talk about it much. Making assumptions based on what you see on totv can really leave you clueless.
that said, it would be nice to have more outspoken male leaders around here.

Being a friend to many who are single, I can assure you that many are not shy, some are shy, some are outgoing, some are sweet some are kinda... challenging. Singles here are just like singles OR doubles anywhere. Except I think this place makes them all a bit happier.

I don't work for the developer.

I think to be single at the senior citizen age does make some people feel a little withdrawn, but shyness is an individual thing. I think I outgrew my shyness and look forward to single gatherings.

We are all busy with getting settled in and still want to connect with other people.

Like the song says, "life is what happens when you are busy making other plans".

Thanks Kitty

Maybe I will fit in. I plan on being busy, but not too busy to have considered conversations.

As I stated earlier on another TOTV forum regarding empowering women: "And I am not intimidated by confident women. I hope to meet some when I move to TV in April. We'll have something in common, and a good basis to start a relationship."

I especially appreciate your comment on assumptions based on what is on TOTV. It's hard to get your point across with brief statements and when you are not face-to-face. I may have inadvertently offended some on TOTV with my past posts. But I see from reading other's TOTV posts I'm not alone.

Please be assured that there are many avenues for singles in this community.

One example is the Single Baby Boomers - This group is thriving with growth spurts that are phenomenal. A regular meeting monthly (to mix with other individuals). Within in the club are subgroups for what ever suits your fancy (Pickleball, softball, hiking, biking, dining , outside dining, billiards etc)
If you don't see something you like organize a new group (many have done that).

This group was founded by a Villager that saw a need. Unfortunately we lost him too soon. We have honored him with a park bench facing Seabreeze Rec center. Many lives have been enriched by this innovative gentlemen. We are all in his debt.

That is the Villages philosophy ...if you have a need ...you'll find it

The singles at Talk Of The Villages write the most enthusiastic, welcoming and "glass half full" posts on the entire website.

If their posts are few, they are meaningful.
