It's been a few years, but it is a fun time. You need at least 1/2 day, maybe a little more.

I still wear my NASA golf shirt we got there.

Cool

They have the new Atlantis Space Shuttle building open, so you can get up close and personal with a real shuttle....

the alantis is great! i love going there to really see my tax dollars that were acutally spent on something i see. food cost is out the roof there. best to go early in the day during the week, it can get very crowded. kinda sad tho to realize the heyday of the program is over. it is almost a museum now rather than a display. if have time the plalinda beach is the most desloute beach to to for the day andu canview the rockets fromthe island. beware the 13th area is an unsactioned nude beach. it is never busy anywhere along the beach . i have been there many times an never seen another person , is very relaxing. the link above gives a very good idea of what it is like at nasa

Yes, Playalinda is a nude beach.
A hole has been found in the fence at Playalinda, police are looking into it.

We went last year when they were doing a behind the scenes tour. Well worthe the money and yes we did purchase our tickets in advance. Half to 3/4 day is enough. We drove over and back the same day and had dinner down in Coco Beach.

It is best to buy tour tickets in advance. We didn't when we went the last time and couldn't take a couple of the tours we hadn't seen before because they were sold out.

We got a year-long pass. Includes 'free' parking and discounts that make it worthwhile it you plan to go more than once.

Good dinner places in downtown Deland on the way back. See Trip Advisor.
