Default Prism TV

Anyone know if Centurylink offers their Prism TV in the Villages? Specifically Collier? They don't even know that they have telecom service there. I called about service to my new home and they said my street isn't in their service area. I just returned from there and they have a serving terminal IN MY BACK YARD! lol

Now that computer programs control the world we live in, that is the norm. People (even the very good workers) only have access to information that is in the program they have to work with. Your area is so new and growing so fast Centurylink can't keep up. There are alternatives, consider DirecTV or the other Dish Network. Also look into Brighthouse.

I should have been more clear. My primary question was does Centurylink offer their Prism TV service in the Villages? It's their version of Verizon's fios.

Perhaps if you contacted CenturyLink they could tell you?

Yes, the do. I have only had it for a couple of months, but several in my neighborhood have had Prism for about a year. (Village of St. James)

Yes in some Villages. Most of the Villages just north of 466A and the Villages south of 466A. It is only offered where fiber optic cable has been installed. This includes Villages with infrastructures built after... maybe 2008.

It may not be connected yet. I will tell you my experience with Century Link and Prism. I went over to the store and signed up for Internet, telephone and Prism tv, set the date for installation, waited until after time set up and no install. called them up, said not available. about a week later saw their tech installing next door, asked him if it was available to my house said yes and had been for about 3 months, called them back set up another install, switched from Comcast and was installed, worked fine for a week, then internet speed went down to 1.25MBps insteat of 10. called them up, came and checked it out, said that is the best you'll get. After 2 months got them to switch me back to Comcast and the new service was 30MBps and was cheaper with all premium channels on tv and unlimited phone service with all features. My internet speed never falls below 28MBps pinging Seattle Wa. now. So I would recommend either Comcast Xfinity with home security or Brighthouse. Good Luck. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Safe Holidays.

I have an experience with CL that left a lot to be desirred. Some reps don't know what they are talking about!!!!!

I was informed that I didn't need a phone line near my computer, as it would work thru their system. I only had one phone jack in the kitchen area, and my PC was in the master bedroom. I asked if it worked by majic, and the rep said "yes". Some people will give you any answer, instead of saying "I don't know" or "I will have to check that question out with someone else".

Joey shoulda known better, as I had to I have a phone jack installed in the BR. I paid for the installtion of the router setup, as I was not feeling well and didn't feel like doing it myself. I had to instruct the installer on how to set it up as he was having problems.

Go figure!!!!!!!

Yes to both. We had CL with Prism installed in our new home in the newest section of Collier (unit 232) 16 days ago. So far so good, we love the speed. We have two setups. They wanted to put the wireless box in the living area because there was no phone outlet, but I said no. So they went in the attic and dropped a phone line. I don't think we were charged extra for that but I guess I will have to wait and see the bill to be sure. So call back and check again.

Default Lady Lake

Okay I found out that Century Link has my service assigned to Lady Lake rather than the Villages. I told them I am actually in Wildwood but no matter the computer says I am in Lady Lake. Fine. However regardless of how much I hate Comcast due to past problems with them, I have been convinced they are better than Century Link in content and products so I will try them instead of CL despite their customer service being the worst of any utility on earth!
