Thumbs up Thank You Fire Department

Yesterday as I was leaving Sweetbay I saw a small cat who appeared to be hungry so I followed her and gave her some cat food. As I was leaving I heard a loud cry coming from the shrubs. I found a tiny kitten with her head stuck through a small hole approx 4" wide in what appeared to be an electrical box. Her tiny body was hanging below with her feet barely touching the ground. I tried to push her head back down but it was impossible. My husband called community watch who in turn called the fire department. Two young men worked on her for approximately 15 min and found a way to free her. They were amazing; they were gentle but firm and got the job done. Unfortunately the kitten took off and we couldn't find her. I think the first cat was her mother and she led me to the kitten who by the way was beautiful, light gray with gray eyes. Feral cats in TV is a huge problem but in this post I wanted to acknowlege the Fire Department and the kindness of the two young men.

LOL you crack me up Kitty!
I have been watching a grey cat in that area but so far she has eluded my trap. Unfortunately my husband is not too happy with me right now because one of the siamese looking kittens is still at my house and I'm not sure she is adoptable to anyone except the most patient person who doesn't mind if it takes months for her to come out from under their bed. I promised him I would not keep her so the thought of me trapping any more makes him cringe. But it sounds like these cats are true ferals and possibly unadoptable which he wouldn't mind me trapping because I would have to put them back. Its so hard to find homes for deserving animals.

Are you feeding the cats, loving animals? Do you have enough food? what will happen with the kitten? Seems like it's to young to be neutered.

Chris, yes, the larger gray cat was where the two kittens were but the rescued kitten was in the shrubs by Fross & Fross' front door. She was tiny about the size of a can of soda, I haven't seen her since.

I haven't been feeding them because when I drive by I almost always see cans so I know she is being fed. If I do not see anything then I leave some hard food. Our feeding bowls are gone so I figured landscapers must have taken them. I have not seen the kitten so this is new news to me. I'll have to start laying the traps every Monday night again. Its just so hard because I have not seen the grey cat come at any certain time whereas the other kittens met me there daily at the same time so it was easier. And as for the kitten, I have never seen it so it will be like playing roulette to get it. But I'll try. And yes, I do have enough food for now, thank you.
By the way, for anyone who saw the pictures of the siamese looking cats, the smaller one (on the right in photo) is still up for adoption, however she needs a home that will give her months of patients. She won't even come out from under our bed if we leave the bedroom door open as she is scared of the world outside her immediate surroundings.
