Default Villages Maps

Are there any good maps available of the villages on the internet. I got a few general maps when I went down for my visit last month but I am looking for more detail. In particular village locations, golf courses, and rec centers. ???

This has only the oldest ones of those on it-- http://www.squidoo.com/thevillages/ The satellite and hybrid features look to be more up-to-date. They can give you more of an idea. Use the "+" and "-" on the map to zoom in and out.

There's nothing I'm aware of.
The older areas streets are available on Google and Mapquest, some of the new areas aren't yet. And using the satellite views leaves you wanting as the pictures are all apparently a few years old.
I wish the $5.00 map was available online, that's the best one I've seen.

The only useful one I found is on the web site of the real estate guy who is in the real estate section of this site under the villages map tab. It depicts the various villages in The Villages.

Double-checked the satellite and hybrid features and SteveFromNY is right. They look to be from 3 to 4 years old as far as I can tell. You can get a good idea about the older Villages though from these satellite photos.

The $5.00 paper map seems to be the best. AAA has a map of the Villages' area but some of the newer sections are not there yet.

my real estate guy sent me one of the $5 maps and it turned out to be a lifesaver. easy to navigate around and it has the plotting for street names.

You don't need the agent to get the map. I buy one at the sales center in Sumter Landing every couple of months (in other words, every visit). The folks who greet you at the door will help. It's definitely the most up to date and complete of any map I've seen.

even us older villagers have to stop by the sales office or banner merchantile at least once a year to buy a village map that will show the newest areas.
for years there was a freeze on building south of 466 but once that case was settled growth expanded rapidly and there are numerous reasons to need to know where new rec centers are. as well as getting a feel for where new residents are living.

This will at least show you were the Golf Courses are. May not be the detail you are looking for. http://www.golfthevillages.com/image...gesGolfMap.pdf

Personally, I would prefer to get a new Villages map annually than The Villages magazine monthly!!

before the expansion across 466, village maps cost 2 dollars weren't printed on glossy heavy stock paper and were distributed free upon release as inserts in the daily sun.
