Default Golf cart accident on Canal St.

My wife and I were driving south on Canal Street in our minivan at about noon today. As we approached the gate at the Bonita Blvd intersection we saw a lot of activity around a golf cart that was overturned, just beyond the exit. Apparently, the cart somehow turned over and pinned the driver under it. A couple of people lifted the cart off of the victim, a gentleman who appeared to be in his late 60's. We got out of our car, called 911 for help, and waited for the EMTs to arrive. The victim complained of head and back pain and was bleeding from the mouth. We sincerely hope that he was OK, and that there are no long term effects from the accident.

Thank you for stopping and helping and caring. Please all, be careful. Soon it will be MUCH worse when we are at full population and have many, many, new drivers and old drivers, with differing levels of skill and caution.

Did not see anything about this accident in today's Daily Sun. I'm hoping that that is a good sign, and that the gentleman did not suffer anything very serious.

Great of you to stop and help. Hope the guy turns out OK. A positive note that you meet the nicest people in TV. If we see a stopped cart for some reason, we always like to check to see if everything is OK. Our cart broke down last year heading towards Hawkes Bay. We called friends who picked up Deanna to go home and get our car while I stayed with the van. People stopped by car and on golf carts and one couple even invited me into their house for a coffee as it was a bit nippy out that day. Golf cart got fixed and as I said, you meet the nicest people here.
