Default It appears I am very jealous of you all

i was just pouring myself a cup of joe when The Villages TV commercial came on,
so I ran into the living-room to see it. We are a few days from the start of winter yet and the gloom has got hold of me.

Are any of you in the commercial ?

I have that effect on some.
Some days I walk for days in the corn fields up here lost until they find me.

Obviously you meant the Villages tv commercial. I have seen a few faces I recognize but I don't know if they are TOTV members.

The cold is breaking and we're due for a nice warm up in the next few days.

Was the commercial on the golf channel? I've never seen it.

Oh Cisco, don't be gloomy or cold. You'll be here in the sunshine soon enough with the rest of us wrinklies.

Not in the commercial but the older one there is a flyover Riley Grove golf course (which overlooks Lake Sumter Landing). I Thought that was me hitting the drive but the golfer was smoking Winstons ( I don't smoke).

and so, dear Cisco and GG, here comes the longest darkest night of the year, Saturday, winter equinox. I wish you were here, Cisco. I will get up and see if the rising sun is coming in my bedroom window as I designed the house just so. Luckily this year we have an almost coinciding FULL moon with the long night, but it's no accident that many cultures in our hemisphere have lighting of candles, trees, and whatever burns tradition to brighten the longest, darkest nights.
So I am going Saturday night to view TV's light displays...in a golf cart, aka horseless sleigh... It is a good life.
