Default Anybody remember this Guy?

Standby for NEWS!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jivF03JahHU]Remembering PAUL HARVEY | Legendary Radio Broadcaster | ABC News - YouTube[/ame]

The man's broadcasts were a perfect example of Americana! He was a master of news and commentary.... in a "story like form" with the goal of informing people!

No matter where you might have fallen on a particular issue, he usually had a compelling style and point of view.

Hearing his voice from time to time, when it is on some TV or radio show about the past.... causes a wave of nostalgia to pour over me.

How about you?

And now, the rest of the story. Paul Harvey was the guest speaker at my small hometown's annual Chamber of Commerce banquet in 1974. The gentleman who received that year's Citizen of the Year recognition, Jim Edwards, was presented the honor from Mr. Harvey. When Mr. Edwards died last year, that was mentioned in his obituary.

Just the mention of Paul Harvey's name fills me with nostalgia-all centered around listening to the radio. He was one of the best. Thanks for the reminder and the smiles.

Paul Harvey was not only an excellent speaker and story teller, but he was also a man of great vision - a man before his time. I was turned on to him in my youth by a co-worker and have been a fan ever since. He is now gone having died in 2009, but his words and memory will live on for many years to come.

Here is just one of Paul Harvey's works that you can find on YouTube and also one of my favorites that he recorded nearly 50 years ago. Enjoy!

"If God had a voice, he would sound like Paul Harvey."
