Default Vandalism on our golf courses

This week there was damage done to the 7th green on Riley Grove at Palmer. A cart was driven on the green making if almost unplayable. Also the granite tee markers were stolen for the 7th tee. I know that this always seems to happen during the holidays and Spring break time. This must be from our younger visitors. The golf shop will get calls from residents that live on the golf courses when they see something wrong or a fivesome playing the course. All I'm asking is that if you hear or see someone on the course late at night, call the Sheriff. This is to just protect our beautiful courses.

Oh, what awful news. You are correct - it seems to happen every year around this time. Thanks for the heads up.

What a shame. And vandalism does appear to occur more when we have a lot of young visitors. The Holidays and spring break. Also more golf cart accidents.

We have lived on golf courses in two previous homes, in Texas and in Georgia. We often had vandalism on both courses. Unfortunately it was young residents each time. Those living on the courses need to keep a watchful eye.i don't understand the thrill but it seems to be preveloent in all areas of the country and not unique to TV.

I remember that photo. Wasn't that last spring break time?

Bet they had a hard time explaining that to Dad or Grampa. At least they did not get hurt or injure someone else. Hope the folks had insurance on the cart.

This photo was maybe a year ago. They were driving recklessly then tipped it ....thank God no one was hurt with this one but it's proof of what can happen.

I don't think being destructive is an acceptable part of "being a kid". It's wrong and they know it.

What is often overlooked is the vandalism which happens nearly every round on our courses. I mean the golfers who don't repair divots and/or ball marks on greens. Generally speaking there is ample time for all golfers to take a moment and repair their marks as well as others' while playing a round. I was taught to repair my mark and one other. Was anyone else taught the same?

Yes, it is taught in Good Golf School.
My wife and I play and spend time doing exactly what you described. I think that a few people think it isn't their job and think that the ambassador should clean up after them.

Yes, most of us were taught to repair and sand, and repair ball marks and rake the traps, and I so agree, but that is really not the same as someone deliberately with malice aforethought trashing something we all enjoy.

The picture is an old one posted on this forum in the last......can't remember.

I really cannot see homeowners ruining their own town. Or grown ups who all love it here renting, visiting or dreaming to be villagers. I love kids and I know that most of them are great, but there is always one or two bad apples, who don't fall far from trees sometimes.

Update on damage to green, there were 104 holes put in the green. This was done by using the flag stick. Granite blocks still haven't been found.

Makes me want to bite. Vandalism always makes me see red. Most of us were taught to take good care of things.
